Through the arts, children learn to view the world in more detail as they seek to create that which they see or imagine. The art club at Saint Ann School provides a fun safe place for students to express themselves and create projects that are more elaborate than those during class. The club meets once a week after school and is offered several times a year. All students in grades second through eighth are welcome to join.
The Drama Club, open to students in grades 2 through 8, provides an opportunity to learn about theater, perform on stage and work behind the scenes. Managed by parent volunteers, the club stages a play each fall and a musical each spring. Every student who desires to perform is given a part. With more than 70 members, the spring musical features two full casts, in addition to a student stage crew. There are 3 club meetings in the fall. Past Productions include The Sound of Music, Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Rockin’ Tale of Snow White, Willy Wonka, Bugsy Malone, Annie, Alice in Wonderland, Once Upon a Mattress, Aladdin, The Wind in the Willows, Robin Hood, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, and A Christmas Carol. Additional information and forms may be found on the Parent Information Page or you may e-mail karinSASmom@gmail.com.
The Saint Ann Ledger is managed by students in grades 4 through 8 and is overseen by parent monitors. All articles are written by students, and our eighth grade editors work on the newspaper’s layout. This after-school club meets approximately twice a month throughout the school year. Guest speakers in the field of journalism are invited to speak with the club members and offer advice on articles, photography, layout, and more.
